Overview
You can request deletion of your Haps account and associated personal data at any time. There are two ways to do it: directly inside the app (fastest), or by emailing our team. Both routes lead to the same outcome — full removal of your personal data, subject to the limited legal retention described below.
This applies to the app published as network.haps.app on Google Play and all Haps Services.
1. Delete your account in the app
The quickest way to delete everything:
- Open the Haps app and make sure you're signed in.
- Go to Settings (tap your profile, then the settings icon).
- Select Account.
- Tap Delete account.
- Confirm when prompted. Your account is deactivated immediately and permanent deletion begins.
Once confirmed, you'll be signed out and your profile will no longer be visible to other users.
2. Delete by email request
Prefer to request deletion manually, or can't access the app? Email privacy@haps.network from the email address associated with your account, with the subject "Account Deletion Request".
To protect your account, we may ask you to verify your identity (for example, by confirming you control the registered email). Once verified, we will process the deletion and confirm by email when it's complete.
3. What gets deleted
When your account is deleted, we permanently remove:
- Your account and login credentials (email, password hash, OAuth links);
- Your profile — display name, handle, avatar and bio;
- Your RSVPs, saved events and follows;
- Your reviews and the messages you've sent;
- Your push notification tokens and device identifiers;
- Your location data and preferences;
- Marketing/newsletter subscriptions tied to your account.
4. What we may retain
For legal, accounting and fraud-prevention reasons, we may retain a limited set of records even after deletion:
- Transaction records for tickets you purchased (amount, date, event) — retained for the period required by tax and accounting law, then deleted;
- Records needed to resolve disputes or enforce our Terms, or where retention is required by law or a valid legal request;
- Aggregated/anonymised data that can no longer identify you.
Content you contributed that is part of another user's record (for example, a message another user received) may persist in their view but is disassociated from your deleted profile.
5. How long it takes
Your account is deactivated immediately on confirmation. Personal data is permanently deleted from our active systems within 30 days, and from encrypted backups within the normal backup rotation cycle (no more than 90 days). Records we're legally required to keep are retained only for the mandated period and then deleted.
6. Deleting specific data without closing your account
You don't have to delete everything. You can also:
- Edit or remove your profile photo, bio and display name in Settings → Profile;
- Cancel RSVPs or unfollow promoters at any time;
- Turn off location access and push notifications in your device settings;
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails via the link in any email, or in app settings.
For a copy of your data or a specific deletion request, email privacy@haps.network.
